About the Project:

FLAGGED was crafted with military veterans and the often-overlooked disabled veteran population in mind, even before the 2025 Disability Film Challenge genre was announced. Producer/writer Arlene Getman and her son Jake Getman, co-producer, reunited with disabled veterans BJ Lange and Gwyn LaRee from last year’s First Base, while adding real-life U.S. veterans Tony Ketcham and David J. Kono to the cast. With this year’s Suspense/Thriller theme, they showcased these veterans in roles reflecting their experiences, portraying characters in a dystopian near future. The film also authentically depicts both visible and non-visible disabilities, including hearing loss, PTSD, and neurodivergence.
