Excuse My Grandma's Palm Beach Season Finale and Recession Dating

Excuse My Grandma's Palm Beach Season Finale and Recession Dating

In this episode of Excuse My Grandma, Kim and Grandma Gail say goodbye to Palm Beach for the season. They’ll miss the sunshine, easy access to Gail’s closet, and the beach. However, they’re excited to head back to NYC for spring, where they’ll celebrate back-to-back birthdays, see their friends, and eat at their favorite restaurants.

In The Drama Club, Kim and Grandma discuss how musical festivals have evolved since Woodstock. Where that was a social rebellion, Coachella is more of a branded event where concert-goers pay for their tickets in payment plans. Not Grandma-Approved.

The hosts then break down the TIME article, “The Silver Lining of Dating in a Recession” in The Grandma Report. Could this be a good thing? Kim thinks so! With more budget-conscious daters, people will go on or create more creative dates, which will be more meaningful. Grandma’s tip: Go for pizza and put some money away for a rainy day. Read it here!

Catch up on Kim’s current shows in The Rewind! She just finished "Love Is Blind” and is watching “Dying For Sex” and “Your Friends and Neighbors.”

Grandma Gail’s Hotline rings next. How should a caller feel about a man she’s been on 11 dates with and isn't showing as much interest as she’d like? Grandma has thoughts. They also give their opinions on therapy. Leave a voicemail at Grandma Gail’s Voicemail, DM us on Instagram, or email team@excusemygrandma.com for advice!

In a game of Should We Bring It Back: Things To Do in Florida Edition, Kim and Gail vote on what deserves a comeback. They also answer a round of Ask Grandma Anything about ghosting (which Gail says always happened in the past but now there’s a name for it), favorite vacation destinations, dealing with the loss of a mother, and where to meet people in your late 30s.

To end the episode, Kim and Grandma reflect on what they learned this season.

Excuse My Grandma While We Dive Into Love and Matchmaking Ft. Aleeza Ben Shalom

In this episode of Excuse My Grandma, Kim and Grandma Gail interview Netflix star, matchmaker, and author Aleeza Ben Shalom. But first, they catch up in Palm Beach: Gail has been brushing up on Bridge and panicking over Wi-Fi outages, while Kim dives into pop culture news. In The Drama Club, Kim fills Grandma in on the Speidi-Alex Cooper-Sofia saga. They then deliver The Grandma Report, reviewing Oscar nominations and giving hot takes on how Hollywood has lost its glamor. Do you agree? In The Rewind, Grandma’s currently bingeing Vera and Murder In on Amazon Prime (now that the TV is back on). For a dose of unrealistic reality, catch up on Kim’s latest obsession– Love Island: All-Stars.  Later, Aleeza Ben Shalom joins to discuss her book Matchmaker Matchmaker, her journey as a matchmaker, and how to date in 2025 with traditions of the past.  While Aleeza loves a set-up, she tells listeners how to be your own matchmaker while using apps and your network. Like Grandma Gail, the special guest has rules when it comes to finding love, including “Date ‘em till you hate ‘em,” and “No-Touching for 5 Dates.” Aleeza’s latest book, Matchmaker Matchmaker, shares real life client stories + expert tips to use in your own life.  To end the episode, Kim, Grandma, and Aleeza answer listener questions about interfaith marriage and missing their cheating ex. Please Excuse My Grandma While We Get Brutally Honest About Love With Anna Kai

Please Excuse My Grandma While We Get Brutally Honest About Love With Anna Kai

In this episode of Excuse My Grandma, Kim and Grandma Gail get brutally honest with special guest Anna Kai, aka @maybeboth. They escaped bitter cold New York to enjoy new restaurants in Palm Beach, see friends, and work, of course.  Social media star and podcast host Anna Kai joins Excuse My Grandma to share her honest thoughts on looking for a husband, “committee decision dating”, grief, and being an influencer. Anna tells Kim and Grandma Gail about her attempts at becoming a blogger during the pandemic instead of getting a ‘normal’ job. In The Grandma Report, the three women discuss dating trends found by Tinder in a recent article. Whether looking for a man in finance or asking friends to vet a guy before the first date, Anna shares her personal experiences based on the study. They then read an email from Grandma Gail’s Hotline, where a listener receives much needed tough love. Want Gail’s honest opinion on your dating dilemma or family drama? Email team@excusemygrandma.com or DM us on Instagram with your voicemails!  Kim, Gail, and Anna then play their new game “Should We Bring It Back?”, questioning whether or not old dating trends like ‘Guy picks up the girl for the date’ and ‘meeting the parents at the door’ should be modern traditions. Anna, who lived with her boyfriend and parents under one roof, had a lot to say about these. To finish the episode, they play Grandma’s Old-Fashioned Dating Quiz. The results? Grandma approved! Anna also shares inspiring advice from her own grandfather, including embracing being alone and moving forward by taking risks. Grandma Gail then imparts her words of wisdom, telling Anna, Kim, and listeners to live everyday, how to deal with loss, and remember the good things.  Follow us on Instagram @excusemygrandma  TikTok @excusemygrandma  Watch on  YouTube Spotify Music By: Guy Kelly (00:00) Introduction (02:38) Interview with Anna Kai (26:26) The Grandma Report (34:33) Grandma Gail’s Hotline (38:30) Should We Bring It Back?
