How to Adopt through Foster Care and The Harsh Reality of Being a Foster Parent (With Mitch Lutjens)

We sat down with our good friend, Mitch Lutjens (Newton) to hear his story of parenting through multiple years in the foster care system and the emotional ups and downs that came with it.

Fostering can be difficult but an equally rewarding journey. While the foster care system shouldn't be viewed as the solution to growing your family, it is something that many prospective parents look to experience. Whether providing vital support to a child for a little while, or becoming their forever family, these are incredibly important stories we all can learn from!

In this episode we're answering the questions: How can you adopt through the foster care system? What is the primary purpose of foster care? How long should you expect to wait before finally being able to adopt through foster care? What are the potential difficulties you may face? What are the costs and benefits of adopting through foster care?
