God’s Word is like a sword - living and active, discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. Pastor Mike’s message details how the Sword of the Spirit, also known as the Word of God is used for both warfare and surgery. When Jesus walked the earth and faced attacks and temptations of the devil, He responded with the Word and the devil fled. A good physician wouldn’t cause pain without a purpose. So in a spiritual sense, when our flesh is “cut” we know that God is working to remove things that are causing us harm. When we allow the word to reveal and cut out what doesn’t belong, God flows through us and we grow in Him.
