Dr Nicholas Mabbott is a Fatigue Risk Management Specialist and published author with over 27 years of experience in sleep and fatigue risk management. In this episode we talk about how we can nurture our brain through good quality sleep and also identify some of the challenges to getting the minimum amount of sleep that our brain needs.

Dr Nick shares some great strategies on how to tap into our neuroplasticity in order to rewire our brains so that we can reverse 'Sleep Maintenance Insomnia' and other issues preventing us from getting adequate sleep. He also talks about how minimising sleep problems helps with improving our skin, facial tone, healing, it also improves memory, improves cognition, helps muscle recovery, and reduces problems caused through increased blood pressure and blood sugar levels.

Dr Nicholas Mabbott is a Fatigue Risk Management Specialist with over 27 years of experience in sleep and fatigue risk management. He has provided sleep and fatigue management training and education to over 32 thousand people from a wide range of industries.

Dr Nick (as he is often referred to) is a self-professed 'sleep salesman' and helps people to better understand and get more sleep on dayshift and nightshift, with proven results. He has been successful in returning full sleep to people who have had sleep disorders, reducing their sleep to as low as three hours a night. Without drugs and within six weeks.

He has a YouTube channel called "The Wonder of Sleep" with 21 videos and has recently joined with some awesome musicians to form the artist "Sleep Weaver". Sleep Weaver are developing an eight-hour sleep meditation playlist, an alarm playlist called "Waking with Dr Nick" and a playlist to get you to work in a good mood. These will be available free of charge on Spotify and Apple apps.

His recently published book: "The Wonder of Sleep: Beyond Midnight" is a compilation of 27 years of learning about sleep and the benefits people get from appropriate sleep. The book challenges road safety professionals and sleep scientists, to examine and test new theories on better managing sleep, workplace safety and road safety. It also provides simple and practical steps to finding great sleep rhythms and living the best life possible.
