Lea Fowler has been an advocate for patients and providers alike for the last 17 years taking on insurance companies. After helping a friend seek coverage for their lipedema removal surgeries, she saw the huge need in this community with women struggling to find coverage for their surgeries. She started a Facebook group called ERISA Facts not Fallacies where she helps educated women and their families on their rights based on the summary plan description from their insurance companies and helps guide them through the process.

Tackling insurance, especially when it comes to finding coverage for lipedema surgery or conservative therapy treatments, can be very overwhelming and confusing. Lea is breaking down how some of this works and answering all of our questions on this week's episode of Lipedema Mamas Podcast.
