Let's Talk: AAVE, the Thing We Call "Internet Slang"

African-American Vernacular English (AAVE) is a dialect created by Black Americans. However, it has since been relabeled as "Internet Slang" online. Although the speakers of AAVE are still facing oppression, many people have now taken the dialect to use as a joke. Join Vicky as she talks about the historical and cultural implications of that, and why it's so important that AAVE is recognized in spaces all around us.
