Paramount Network, Paramount Global, and Taylor Sheridan, the co-creator and showrunner of the TV series “Yellowstone,” are planning to end the show but are considering a franchise extension to continue the “Dutton Saga.” Matthew McConaughey is in talks to star in the new show, and it is expected that some of the prominent cast members will also move to the new series. The current show is facing issues with star Kevin Costner over shooting schedules, which has caused morale problems for the other cast members. Paramount Network has declined Costner’s recent proposal for shooting his parts in a week and decided to move on to the new show. McConaughey’s franchise extension is still in negotiations, and it’s unclear whether it will be set in Montana or elsewhere. The new show will air on the linear cable channel Paramount Network and stream exclusively on Paramount+. The series will be set before Wonder Woman's birth and will explore the "darkness and drama and political intrigue" behind the society of women in a "Game of Thrones-type story." James Gunn and Peter Safran have announced a new Swamp Thing film, part of a fresh slate of DC projects. The movie will delve into the dark origins of the character and feature other DC characters as well. The film will be more horrific in nature but will still have Swamp Thing interact with other characters. Swamp Thing was previously seen on the small screen in a short-lived TV series and in a 1982 film directed by Wes Craven. DC has announced plans to adapt the comic book series "Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow" into a movie. The movie will be led by James Gunn and Peter Safran and will offer a different perspective on Supergirl compared to past adaptations. Fox’s Animation Domination lineup including Bob’s Burgers, The Simpsons, and Family Guy, has been renewed for two more seasons each, through 2025. The renewals will keep The Simpsons as the longest-running scripted series on TV history, covering seasons 35 and 36. Bob’s Burgers and Family Guy will cover seasons 14 and 15 and 22 and 23, respectively. Fox’s president of scripted programming, Michael Thorn, praised the “enduring power” of the animation genre and the “infinite fan affinity” for these shows. The younger sibling of these three shows, The Great North, was renewed for a fourth season in August and is expected to be safe for the future. The co-chairmen and CEOs of DC Studios, James Gunn and Peter Safran, confirmed the new project, “The Brave and the Bold,” which will introduce the new DCU Batman. This Batman will not be played by Ben Affleck or Robert Pattinson, who starred in previous Batman movies. The film is focused on Damian Wayne, Bruce Wayne’s son, who was raised as an assassin and is described as a “little son of a bitch.” The film will also feature other members of the extended Bat Family who have been left out of recent Batman movies.
