Closing the 18-Inch Gap Podcast-EP026: 10 Powerful Questions I ask in A Coaching Session.

Quote of the week: Identify your problems but give your power and energy to solutions. Tony Robbins

A big way to closing an 18 inch gap is through coaching that gives you power and energy to find your solutions. In today's podcast I am going through 10 questions that pack some tremendous power in getting that 18 inch gap closed.

These are coaching questions that I would use in a likely coaching scenario.

Points covered:

1. The first question is what do you really, really want? How many people do you know who settle for less? As a coach, it's my job to help people go after what truly excites and inspires them.

2. What do you mean by (fill in the blank) and what does (fill in the blank) me for you? So, what do you really mean? These questions help me understand how I can help you understand yourself.

3. Why is this important now? What makes this goal important to work on now as opposed to any other time. I would use this question get to the heart of your motivation and why.

4. What else? Asking you to go beyond your first and most obvious answer getting close to the truth of things really helps go into a deeper session. I may ask several times for more information and to really get to what's deeply rooted in your thinking and what you're feeling.

5. By saying yes what are you saying no to? And by saying no what are you saying yes to? Whether it's an issue, person, decision or goal, all too often we say yes to what we think we should do without first understanding the impact it will have in our life.

6. What would be the best question I could ask you right now? This is perfect when you're stuck. This question also empowers you when you seem scattered, lacking confidence, disempowered or even overwhelmed.

7. What do you not want me to ask you? It's important to establish boundaries with you. I would never ask questions you don't want me to go into.

8. What's the first or easiest step you can take? Sometimes you can be held back by fear, feeling overwhelmed or like you're drowning in the details of a huge goal.

9. What was your biggest win from our session today? This question will help me identify and reflect on the coaching that I have been giving you and identify what was most helpful.

10. And finally, possibly the most important powerful coaching question of all is absolutely nothing at all. What does this mean? It's simple. The coach's most powerful tool is silence. There are endless questions and answers in silence.

Do you want to explore deeper how I can help you with the topic of today? If so, reach out to me and let me know. Simply send me an email to edwin@edwinsoler.com and let me know what your question is and how we can connect.
