Livestock Breeding and Improvement

Livestock Breeding and Improvement

Genomic tools have come a long way over the past decade, and David Chin, CEO of LIC, has been at the forefront of this. In interview with Belinda Clarke, David talks us through the the key blocker of data interoperability, adapting technology to different contexts, and making cows more efficient in a changing climate.

Originating in New Zealand, LIC is a farmer-owned agri-tech company supplying elite dairy genetics to the world. Improving the livelihoods of dairy farmers is at the heart of everything LIC do and has been for more than a century. They use the latest science and technology to come up with solutions that will boost efficiency, productivity and, in turn, their profitability. That’s why LIC continue to lead the world in pastoral dairy systems and genetics.
