BURNING MAN! We’ve been told it’s the place where pagans come to worship demons in the desert in their birthday suits and psychedelics, right? Actually, that’s only partially true. This so called “transformative event,” is much more than a glorified Woodstock. Rather, the tens/hundreds of thousands who gather each year come seeking an experience; some simply for a good time and unwind from the mundane nine-to-five, others for the ultimate spiritual experience to connect with transcendent and metaphysical parts of reality.They hired him how?Tech moguls who are fond of Burning Man have expressed the event as a place where people gather to manifest something they call “group flow,” or what we would call “hive mind behavior.” In fact, Google even used Burning Man as a test to hire their former CEO, Eric Schmidt. The litmus test was in his ability to merge or to hinder “group flow”!But apart from their behavior, the question ought to be “What worldview(s) are actually being presented and taught at Burning Man?” And the answer, is prophetic!It’s All About WorldviewEvery computer needs an Operating System as a foundation to carry out all the functions that these magical machines bring to our fingertips. The same could be said about human society, where worldview is the primary foundation, by which our civilization draws its functional capacities (to form organization, institutions, governments, and other communal establishments for the common good). And similar to the variety of options in the marketplace of Operating Systems like Linux, MacOS, iOS & Windows, in our contemporary western civilization, we have a buffet of option to choose how to view the world. While the freedom to explore the options without being killed by controlling authorities is a positive product of westernization (or so it appears), a lack of critical thinking and grounded reasoning when examining them have given way to some pretty confusing times. What is emerging from this worldview vacuum is a “new spirituality” with an ingredient that we’ve been tracking here on Canary Cry Radio for years: Technology. This cultural move towards techno-spiritualism is all the more apparent with the theme for this years (2018) Burning Man, I, Robot. SILVER! GOLD! BITCOIN! FIAT! MONEY! It makes the world go around. The Bible teaches that the LOVE of money is the root of all kinds of evil, not money itself (1 Tim 6:10, Matt. 21:12). But what exactly is money?In the Bible, some of the earliest forms of money was by way of precious metals. In fact, it only takes forty-two verses into the Word of God before you run into the first mention of gold (Gen. 2:11). Just a few chapters later, Abram is described as being a wealthy man, rich in livestock, gold, and even silver (Gen 13:2)! Later, the Bible records of Gadites offering a silver plate and bowl for trade (Num. 7:43). It’s fascinating to ponder that God, the Creator of the universe, included precious metals like gold and silver as part of creation, to be material goods that will always maintain value.But the world has changed. Today, we are not encouraged to store or accumulate actual goods of value like gold and silver, but rather, digital units of debt beholden to banks. While these digital bits have and do provide actual purchasing power in the real world, it is not as secure or safe as tangible goods. And in the case of some sort of economic crisis or digital meltdown, precious metals will remain as a constant store of value and exchange.To help us better understand these issues, we invited the Silver Guru, David Morgan of The Morgan Report. For two millennia, the church has been on the front lines, fulfilling this great commission.But as we march further into the 21st century, it appears that not only are the technologies that can truly fulfill Matthew 24:14 now available, but that same tech is what might fulfill the mark/image prophecy mentioned in the Book of Revelation.The rapid rise of computers, AI, nanotech, biotech, smart-everything tech, blockchain, and countless other fields of science, have essentially promised the very things God promised us. These include health and wellness to the point of eternal life (or at least the ability to live for as long as you choose), living in a paradise or edenic world (virtual worlds only limited by your imagination), and the promise of divinity (apotheosis). But something very profound is happening on the cutting edges of science, especially in the realm of quantum computing, that gives away the reality of the situation.For example, the circuitry being configured for one quantum computing project, are using a pattern that is precisely the same as the ancient practice of geomancy.
