Ian Turnbull: How DAZN is shaking fear into the online sports betting industry!

🎙 Podcast #101 with Pierre Lindh and Ian Turnbull, EVP Betting & Gaming at DAZN Group

We’ve seen the meteoric rise of DAZN Group starting from a streaming service offering coverage of Japanese J.League football to adding La Liga and quickly acquiring rights to many obscure leagues and sports not usually covered, and bringing them to mainstream attention. They very soon went from offering their services in Austria, Germany and Switzerland to being available in over 200 countries and territories, with exclusive rights to some sports, including lucrative deals with Golden Boy Promotions and UEFA Womens Champions League.

In April 2022, DAZN announced its partnership with betting and gaming supplier Pragmatic group, with the aims of launching the companies own sports betting brand DAZN bet. The shockwaves heard in the boardrooms of many sportsbook brands could be felt instantly as the news burst. Ian Turnbull of DAZN joined Pierre Lindh and Nico Jensen to talk about the news and how DAZN plans to shake up the sportsbook market.
