Training camp, Day 7: Taking a close look at the crowded receiver battle, plus JP sits down with Jonathan Allen

The Redskins returned to the practice field on July 31, so the Redskins Talk podcast has returned to recapping the sights and sounds from Richmond in this installment. JP Finlay, Rich Tandler, Mitch Tischler and Pete Hailey get things started by quickly thanking the listeners for helping them set another record before kicking the football things off with a conversation about Ty Nsekhe's health and potential move to guard. Will Mitch ever get to see it happen? Following that, they briefly focus on the linebacker spot and wonder if Martrell Spaight's days are numbered in D.C. That is followed by a really long chat about the receivers, as the four try to figure out who the heck is going to make the team behind the three top targets. Pete, for one, believes Trey Quinn is already safe, a claim that's met by plenty of pushback (like always) by the others. JP, for example, wants to see Quinn make a difference on special teams before he feels good about placing him on the final 53 (or 54, since it's JP). Finally, as usual, they go around to speak about their "one thing" from the session before tossing to JP's interview with Jonathan Allen. In that back-and-forth, Allen explains how his defense can become the "badasses" he wants them to be and scouts Daron Payne, too. If you like podcasts where JP announces when the season's tailgate party will be and Allen goes in on how much he loves freeing up others to make plays, then this is the episode for you.
