No to Abuse

*No to Abuse.....* At the height of the pandemic worldwide lots of women, men and children lost their lives due to domestic abuse. As people were locked down at home, many where Locked down with their abusers. It felt like being caged up with a killer and unable to step out because of the killer disease. Before this pandemic many hid away in the reality of being able to get out and speak to others even though they might hide their reality at home away, either due to shame or knowledge best known to them. *There are various types of abuse;* *Emotional abuse;* saying things to cause another feel less of who they are. This doesn't only come from spouse to spouse. It can be from parent to children, children to parent, husband to wife, colleagues, neighbours leaders to followers. When you take it upon yourself to make others feel like their existence is a mistake you are emotionally abusing them. No one should ever feel that way or be made to feel that way. *Financial abuse*; using someone's money against their wish or purpose they plan to use it for. Either because they can't do things independently due to sickness or whatever it may be. Say for example you live with an aged relative who's children give you their money for upkeep but you channel some percentage for yourself without their consent. That is abuse, and it's stealing. You may justify yourself by saying well I spend my time taking care of them what about their children. If you want to charge for your service make proper negotiation with the family rather than make it your duty to steal from the elderly. *Spiritual abuse*; yes some people use spiritual positions to abuse others. They do so by guilt tripping followers just because they want things done in a particular way either it's against the will of God or not. If you find yourself in this place as an abuser, if you cannot lead like Christ lead please leave the office of a leader to someone who can. Or you feel like because you pray for others you now have the control or final say over their destiny and existence, you make them dance to your tune and cause them to feel like a subject to you. *Physical Abuse;* using every opportunity to strike someone. This could be a parent to child, child to parent spouse to spouse. This is the one many see and are quick to say it's unsafe because the others can't really be seen just like that except you observe. This has led to deaths of men, women and children across the globe. This is the one many will rise up to and demand for justice in some places. As there are male abuser, so are there female abusers, as there are parents that abuse their children physically so are children that abuse their parents. Abuse of this kind can result in permanent damage or result in fatality from one party to another. Whatever abuse it may be, either mentioned here or not isn't the normal way to live life. It is important that you rise up and get help. Many shy away from getting counselled or sharing their story because of the fear of unknown, societal values or the environment they find themselves. You only have one life and you must live to protect it so it's not snuffed out of you by people or a person who feel they can. Guess what they can only do that if you allow them. Perhaps you are not a victim of any of the above abuse but you are aware of others please seek for help for them where possible.
