Sit with legs crossed in front of a superior
Don’t stand up when a superior enters the office
Cross their arms when talking
Think it’s alright to ignore local traffic laws
Go Dutch
Call a Korean woman by her husband’s family name
Use sarcasm
Don’t offer to share their food
Begin drinking as soon as their glass if filled
Don’t pour drinks for everyone else
Fill up someone’s glass before it’s completely empty

Common Korean Behaviors

Female janitorial staff clean men’s rooms while men are using them
Unisex restrooms
Unlock only one door of a double door
Ride motorcycles/scooters on the sidewalk
Remove seatbelts and stand up immediately upon landing

Ask personal questions
Eat dried squid in public
Parents let their children disturb others in public
