S2E11 Choosing Forgiveness: Fr. Thomas Berg on Healing, Catholic Guilt and Reconciliation

S2E11 Choosing Forgiveness: Fr. Thomas Berg on Healing, Catholic Guilt and Reconciliation

Friends,

In today’s episode, I welcome guest, Fr. Thomas Berg, an author, speaker on issues regarding church life, and visiting Professor of the Practice at the McGrath Institute for Church Life. He holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy from Rome’s Pontifical University Regina Apostolorum. Fr. Tom’s work centers on seminarian formation and healing those wounded by clergy sexual abuse. He and I discuss his co-authored book with Dr. Timothy Lock, Choosing Forgiveness: Unleash the Power of God’s Grace. Among other topics, we explore the act of forgiveness, the phenomenon of “Catholic guilt”, the four-step forgiveness process described in the book, and what it means to make a sincere apology.
