EP. 55 – Dreams, Detours, Discoveries w/ Christ Junior “CJ” Anekore | The Patty Show

From the bustling streets of Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire to the bright lights of Los Angeles, Christ Junior “CJ” Anekore is proof that detours can still lead you to your dreams. 🌍⚽🎓

We first crossed paths working in hospitality at a country club, and our bond felt instant. Part of it was destiny: my best friend Yann Konan — the very first guest on The Patty Show — is from Abidjan, and another close friend Yanick (also Ivorian and my fellow personal trainer, who’s been on the podcast too) is part of this same circle. We actually met Yanick at The Bungalow in Santa Monica during a random night out! That shared Ivorian thread made meeting CJ feel like reconnecting with family.

In this inspiring conversation, CJ opens up about:

Growing up in Abidjan with a dream of playing pro soccer ⚽
How an unexpected pivot brought him to Los Angeles to study business and sports management 🎓
The role his sister (a rising entrepreneur in LA’s skincare scene) and his family’s support played in his journey 💛
Finding joy and positivity even when plans change, and how every “detour” can become a blessing ✨

If you’ve ever had to restart, pivot, or rethink your dream, CJ’s story will light a fire under you.
