He argues that it was not a person but a mindset that killed San Francisco, as the city shifted from tolerance to ultra-tolerance in the 80s. He shares personal anecdotes, including witnessing public defecation and the loss of iconic restaurants, and expresses a deep emotional attachment to the city's connection to the bay and the water. He also mentions his writing career and the creation of his Jack Hatfield series, inspired by his experiences in San Francisco.
