S19E09 | Lawrence Haggart (Larbert, Stirlingshire, 1996)

S19E09 | Lawrence Haggart (Larbert, Stirlingshire, 1996)

In March 1996, the town of Denny in Stirlingshire was left reeling by the shocking death of 15-year-old Lawrence Haggart, a promising young footballer with dreams of pulling on the green and white hoops of Celtic. He was a devoted son and brother, a teenager whose future seemed bright, and his talent was clear to everyone who knew him.

When a night out with friends ended in tragedy at his own home, the investigation that followed would raise more questions than answers. Confusion, suspicion, and bitter accusations tore through the family, while the community searched for justice.

As the inquiry unfolded, disturbing histories and mishandled leads threatened to overshadow the truth. What emerged was not only the story of one boy’s life cut short, but also a reflection of the failures and dark undercurrents that surrounded his case.

S07E08 | Luke Mitchell | The Murder of Jodi Jones

Hawley Harvey Crippen | The Murder of Cora Crippen | Feat. Zevon Odelberg from Kinda Murdery

In this mid-season episode, I'm joined by Zevon Odelberg of Kinda Murdery, who will tell me (and you) the story of Hawley Harvey Crippen.Dr Crippen, or Dr Devil's Breath, was an American homoeopath charged with murdering his wife, Cora "Belle" Crippen, in London in 1910.Scotland Yard found the torso of a human body at Crippen's house in Holloway, and it was identified as Cora's, despite it being headless, limbless and boneless.Crippen was hanged for the murder on November 23, 1910, but a recent case review shows that mitochondrial DNA confirms that the remains were not those of Cora Crippen. The Court of Appeal refused to hear the case to pardon Crippen posthumously.Zevon also discusses the 2019 murder of Adrian Murphy by Joel Osei and Diana Cristea. If you or someone you know is struggling or in crisis, help is available.UK-based listeners can call 116 123 for free (Samaritans)USA-based listeners can call or text 988 (the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, formerly the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline)You can find and support 'Kinda Murdery' here:Facebook | Kinda MurderyInstagram | @kindamurderyTikTok | @kindamurderyTwitter | @KindaMurderyFor all things British Murders, please visit my website:https://www.britishmurders.com/Intro music:David John Brady - 'Throw Down the Gauntlet'https://linktr.ee/davidjohnbradymusicMy recording equipment:Shure SM7B Vocal MicrophoneCloud Microphone Cloudlifter CL1Focusrite Scarlett Solo USB Audio InterfaceRode PSA-1 Professional Studio Boom ArmRecorded using:ZencastrEdited in:Hindenberg PRO Learn more about your ad choices.
