BURN NOTICE: A DOZEN DEAD, THOUSANDS HOMELESS, SUSPECT FILMED FIRE FIGHTERS AFTER SETTING DEADLY PALISADES BLAZE

An arrest was made in the arson fire that burned down the Palisades earlier this year, killing 12 people, destroying more than 6,800 structures, both homes and businesses, and damaging over 1,000 more buildings.

After dropping off an Uber passenger in Pacific Palisades, 29-year-old Jonathan Rinderknech parked his car and tried but failed to contact a former friend. He gets out of the car, walks up a nearby trail, takes iPhone videos, and listens to a rap song. Its music video includes objects being lit on fire.

Then, twelve minutes into the new year, a fire is started. With weak cell service, Rinderknecht walks back down the trail, continually calling 911 until he finally connects, only to find out other residents already reported the fire.

As Rinderknecht drives away, he passes firefighters and turns back to watch them on the scene. He records while firefighters quickly extinguish the blaze, or so they thought.

The dense underbrush makes it difficult to see, and the roots underground continue to smolder. A week after the 911 calls reporting the Lachman fire, the Santa Ana Winds create an explosion of deadly fire, spreading the remains of the Lachman fire across LA, freshly named the Palisades fire.

Investigators question Rinderknecht as he repeatedly called 911 about the January 1st fire.

During those calls, Rinderknecht asked ChatGPT, "Are you at fault if a fire is lit because of your cigarettes?"

Rinderknecht gives conflicting statements about whether he smoked near the trail that night and where he was when he called. Rinderknecht claims he was at the bottom of the trail, but location data shows while speaking with 911, he’s just 30 feet from the fire’s origin.

Ultimately, Rinderknecht is charged.

Body Bags with Joseph Scott Morgan: Reasonable Doubt For Bryan Kohberger?

A lot of information has come about the victims in Moscow, Idaho, and the condition of their bodies, as well as the location and injuries, and the investigation that, in retrospect, might have been misguided at best. Latah County Coroner Cathy Mabutt made many public comments in the first days of the investigation of the Bryan Kohberger case, including the evidence and what was stated as fact early in the investigation that doesn't match up with current facts. Joe Scott Morgan explains the forensics of death, livor mortis, and rigor mortis, as well as PMI (postmortem interval), and how the delay in reporting the bodies could be problematic for the prosecution in the upcoming trial of Brian Kohberger. DIDDY STRIKES BACK: STATE BRACES FOR DEFENSE CLOSING ARGUMENT

DIDDY STRIKES BACK: STATE BRACES FOR DEFENSE CLOSING ARGUMENT

Sean "Diddy" Combs' defense team summarized its case today as attorney Marc Agnifilo said he hopes to complete his closing arguments in about three hours. While acknowledging physical abuse between Combs and Cassie Ventura, Agnifilo described their relationship as “a great modern love story.” The high-profile trial of hip-hop mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs is nearing its end. Combs is accused of sex trafficking by force, transportation to engage in prostitution, and racketeering conspiracy in a federal indictment originally filed in September 2024. He later faced two additional superseding indictments. Combs has pleaded not guilty to all charges. Follow Crime Stories with Nancy Grace for the latest updates on the Sean Combs trial. DIDDY AKA “THE BARON OF BABY OIL” FUMES DURING STATE’S CLOSING

DIDDY AKA “THE BARON OF BABY OIL” FUMES DURING STATE’S CLOSING

Sean "Diddy" Combs used "violence and fear" to run a criminal enterprise that allowed him to subject two former girlfriends to sex trafficking, a U.S. prosecutor said Thursday during closing arguments at the music mogul's trial. Prosecutor Christy Slavik told jurors that Combs "uses power, violence, and fear to get what he wants," adding, "He thought that his fame, wealth, and power put him above the law." Slavik cited Ventura Fine’s alleged involvement in several of Combs' so-called "freak offs" as an example of the coercion he used during sexual encounters. Prosecutors argue Combs operated a criminal enterprise under a "climate of fear." The jury is expected to begin deliberations late Friday or Monday. Some observers say the trial has shifted from a question of whether Combs committed the acts to whether he will be held accountable Joining Nancy Grace today, Joshua Ritter - Criminal Defense Attorney, Former Prosecutor, Host of "Courtroom Confidential" on YouTube; website: joshuaritter.com; Twitter, Instagram & TikTok: @joshuaritteresq, YouTube: CRConfidential Dr. Bethany Marshall - Psychoanalyst, Author: "Deal Breaker: When to work on a relationship and when to walk away” Also featured in hit show: "Paris in Love" on Peacock, www.drbethanymarshall.com , Instagram & TikTok: drbethanymarshall, Twitter: @DrBethanyLive Joseph Giacalone -) Former NYPD Sergeant SDS, Author: “ The Cold Case Handbook” and “The Criminal Investigative Function: A Guide for New Investigators”, Podcast host of "True Crime with the Sarge", YouTube: Joseph Giacalone, Twitter: @JoeGiacalone, www.josephGiacalone.com Lynn Shaw - Founder and Executive Director of Lynn's Warriors - an organization committed to ending human trafficking and sexual exploitation,  Host of Lynn's Warriors on YouTube, website: lynnswarrior.org,  X: @lynns_warriors, YouTube: @LynnsWarriors Tisa Tells - Pop Culture Investigator & Commentator and Host of 'Tisa Tells' on Youtube, Instagram & TikTok: @TisaTellss, Facebook: Tisa.Tells.3 Lauren Conlin - Podcaster/Reporter/Host- Co-Host of "PopCrimeTV" on YouTube, Website: www.popcrime.tv and primetimecrimeshow.com, X- @Conlin_Lauren, Instagram: @LaurenEmilyConlin, YouTube: @PopCrimeTV Sydney Sumner - 'Crime Stories'  Investigative Reporter See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
