And more importantly… how are these people surviving without a job in this economy? There are a lot of reasons why someone might not participate in the labor force. They might have retired, they might still be studying for qualifications, there are people who are too sick to work, stay at home spouses, members of the military who are clearly working but don’t officially count as part of the labor force and then of course there are just really rich people who don’t need to work to maintain their lifestyle.
