Episode 22: Teaching kids it's safe to have doubts by leaning into our own with Lindsay Law

As the Youth Rising Coach, Lindsay Law helps teenagers see themselves as God does. There's not enough conversation around mental health, brains, and thought work. So Lindsay took it upon herself to learn how to communicate as a mom to teens struggling to see their value, that were struggling with mental health. She believes the earlier our brains understand how to love ourselves and have self-compassion the better outcomes we'll experience. She even started a YouTube channel- that teaches families how to talk to their kids about mental health.

Lindsay says, "It’s so good for our kids to have questions and bring them to us; allow them to mold their own discipleship rather than fitting into a certain mold. Really focus on the child you have in front of you, really seeing that person. Let go of the fear of who we think they should be or want them to be. When we step into who they really are then we see more of that evolve that couldn’t have come otherwise. Trust God, trust our kids."

Bio: Lindsay cherishes her role as a mother of six (four of whom are teenagers or tweens). As a Certified Youth & Parent Life Coach, she helps youth quiet the anxiety that comes from not feeling enough. Together they work to replace perfectionism with self confidence. As well she teaches parents to respond to their teens in a way that promotes connection and acceptance in the relationship. When she is not coaching and teaching, she loves to do yoga, cycle, and explore with her teens.
