On the April 25, 2024 episode of /Film Daily, /Film editor Ben Pearson is joined by /Film staff writer Bill Bria to gather around the virtual water cooler to talk about what they’ve been watching lately. In the Water Cooler:What we’ve been Watching:Bill saw Hereditary in IMAX, the first two Maze Runner movies, and Cool as Ice.Ben caught up with The First Omen and Immaculate, watched all of Conan O’Brien Must Go, and saw Dead Men Don’t Wear Plaid. Listener e-mail: Lorenzo from Sarasota, FL, wrote in about our recent episode where we talked about our favorite vampire films. Lorenzo says “both of my favorite live-action vampire movies were mentioned, but my number 1 favorite vampire movie is actually an animated movie, and I wanted to give it a shout out: The Batman vs. Dracula.” He calls it “underseen and underrated,” and explains that though it’s set in the continuity of an animated series called The Batman that debuted in 2004, “the film is a standalone story that can easily also be enjoyed even without the context of the show.” He says it’s “atmospheric and creepy,” it stars Peter Stormare as the voice of Dracula, and it even gives us Vampire Joker, with Tom Kenny’s Penguin basically filling the Renfield role and delivering comedy gold throughout.”All the other stuff you need to know:You can find more about all the stories we mentioned on today’s show at slashfilm.com, and linked inside the show notes./Film Daily is published every weekday, bringing you the most exciting news from the world of movies and TV as well as deeper dives into the great features from slashfilm.com. You can subscribe to /Film Daily on Apple Podcasts, Overcast, Spotify, and wherever you get your podcasts.Send your feedback, questions, comments, concerns, and mailbag topics to us at bpearson@slashfilm.com.
