25. Pelvic Floor Health With Dr. Sinead Dufour, Erin Craven of Urospot

Have you sneezed or coughed and had a little pee accident? Are you suffering from urinary incontinence? Has sex ever been painful for you? These are just some of the symptoms of genitourinary syndrome. Up to 80% of menopausal women can suffer from it. It is caused by low estrogen levels in the tissues of the urinary tract and the female genital tract. Why is understanding pelvic floor health important? Well, urinary incontinence is one of the top reasons women are admitted to long-term care homes and it can have drastic effects on mental, social and physical health. On this episode of the show, physiotherapist and researcher Dr. Sinead Dufour and Erin Craven, CEO of UROSPOT - clinics that focus on pelvic healthcare for women and men - discuss the vital importance of understanding and treating the pelvic floor for overall health.
