Despite bringing back Gene Hackman and the introduction of a nuclear powered supervillian things took a turn with budget concerns, wonky story beats and a brutal edit. Superman 3 is considered by many to be the Superman 3 of the Superman franchise. However this movie was absolutely riddled with problems all stemming from the firing of original director Richard Donner who was replaced with Richard Lester. It's a wild ride.
