Fighting Climate Change with Jesse and Genesis Onomiwo

Autosparkle - a Lagos-based innovative Autocare services company has already swung into action and is taking the lead in Africa. Autosparkle which was co-founded by two young Nigerian brothers (Genesis and Jesse Onomiwo) started operations in the Victoria Island part of Lagos in 2010 as a strictly-mobile waterless car wash company with an eco-conscious drive and determination to help Africans save water for better uses by starting with Nigeria. With the core focus on car interior and engine detailing services only, Genesis and Jesse have successfully created a new category in the AutoCare industry that never existed anywhere in the world before now, making Autosparkle a first mover and natural leader of the waterless car interior and engine detailing niche. In fact, Autosparkle is now a replacement for the word interior detailing.

Genesis one of the brothers was of the opinion that people tend to take lightly the critical state of climate change and are often thinking it unreal. He revealed that statistics showed that by the year 2030 about 700 million persons would be displaced by intense water scarcity with some areas currently experiencing high water stress.

He went into detail saying that the effects of climate change could be devastating ranging from drought to flood. To this, he stressed on the need for people to be aware of the effects of the present climate changes and join hands in averting the dangers that may come with it.

Jesse also came in to say to talk about their car waterless wash and detailing company, a common move, he said in other parts of the world due to shortage of water in those areas. He spoke to the fact that in other parts of the world people were already coming to terms with the issue of climate change as it concerns the usage of water.

He went on to say that even as water was critical for living, it should be used for only essential things. He recounted that the company had started as a mobile car wash business but they had difficulty sourcing for water most times, so began the idea of waterless car washing.

Using nanotechnology and special cleaning agents they have gone on to wash and detail cars without using water ever since. He recounted that at first, it was challenging, as most people had been skeptical around the possibility of washing their car without water and it affected their business.

He mentioned that during those times their family had been very open and supportive of the idea. Discussing the idea, he said that in a car there were areas that tend to sag, crack and harden in contact with water but with their waterless approach, this was prevented. They explained saying that the special clAeaning agents used in carrying out the waterless car wash were cleaning agents that are able to work on dirt thoroughly.

The two brothers revealed that working together in the number of years was possible because of their synergy of values, sense of responsibility and respect for the business. One of the brothers soon shared the sacrifices they made at the onset adding that a level of success was possible if one takes a tangible amount of risk.
