OJ SIMPSON SPINNING IN HELL: FORCED TO PAY $58M TO MURDER VICTIMS

OJ SIMPSON SPINNING IN HELL: FORCED TO PAY $58M TO MURDER VICTIMS

More than 31 years after O.J. Simpson was found liable for the deaths of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman, in a wrongful death civil trial, Simpson’s estate finally agrees to pay damages awarded to Goldman’s family in 1997.

While the jury granted the families $33.5 million, Simpson’s estate has agreed to pay Ron's father, Fred Goldman, $58 million plus interest.

It’s unclear what spurred the change of heart; executor Malcolm Lavergne previously swore to never pay Goldman a dollar.

Although the estate accepts the $58 million claim, the executor says he expects to collect only $500,000 to $1 million total in assets. The estate plans to auction off Simpson's possessions to raise money. Though Lavergne agrees to the $58 million payout, it’s unclear whether the estate can afford the full amount.

Executor Malcolm Lavergne says the estate plans to pay out as much of the sum as possible as items continue to be auctioned off. However, Lavergne claims several items were stolen, and of those that have been located, legal battles to recover them are still ongoing.

One year after Simpson is acquitted in criminal court, a civil trial begins. The families of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman sue Simpson for their wrongful deaths. The civil trial lasts five months, the 12-person jury finding OJ Simpson responsible for the murders of Nicole and Ron.

The jury awards $8.5 million in compensatory damages to Ron Goldman's parents, and determine Simpson should pay $25 million in punitive damages to both victims’ families.

The Goldman family isn’t the only one Simpson owes money. Simpson’s estate owes federal taxes and state taxes as well. While Lavergne agrees to the Goldman settlement.

He says his priority is paying off the IRS. Lavergne is doubling down on skirting the California taxes, saying the state will have to sue to recover the $637,000 claim they filed with the estate.

BOMBSHELL: BARRY MORPHEW CHARGED FOR SECOND TIME WITH WIFE SUZANNE’s MURDER

BOMBSHELL: BARRY MORPHEW CHARGED FOR SECOND TIME WITH WIFE SUZANNE’s MURDER

A Colorado husband and father arrested again in connection with the murder of his wife years after previous charges were dropped, a grand jury indicts Barry Morphew on first-degree murder. In 2021, Morphew was charged with first-degree murder and tampering with physical evidence after his wife, Suzanne, went missing on Mother's Day in 2020, but those charges were later dropped before his trial date and a year before Suzanne's remains were found. Suzanne Morphew, 49, was last seen on Mother's Day, May 10, 2020, in Maysville, Colorado, after leaving her home for a bike ride. Later that evening, Suzanne's mountain bike is found near the home, and her helmet is found in a different location nearby a few days later. A massive search for Suzanne spans over a three-year period until her remains are uncovered in a shallow grave in Saguache just a few hundred feet down a dirt road, the indictment states. An autopsy report states drugs typically used to tranquilize animals were found in her system. Morphew was all smiles at his court appearance. Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ next court appearance will be virtual hearing and take place later today. This procedural session is slated to begin at 2 p.m. Eastern and will determine whether Combs’ sentencing—currently scheduled for October 3rd—can be expedited. A gunman armed with an assault rifle opened fire Monday morning at a U.S. Border Patrol facility in McAllen, Texas — injuring a police officer before he was shot and killed by federal agents. Three people are dead, and ten others hurt after gunfire erupted early Monday in South Philadelphia. Alabama has scheduled a September execution using nitrogen gas for a death row inmate convicted more than two decades ago. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

DIDDY WATCH: CLOCK TICKING DOWN ON DIDDY HEARING IN JUST HOURS

DIDDY WATCH: CLOCK TICKING DOWN ON DIDDY HEARING IN JUST HOURS

Sean 'Diddy' Combs, disgraced rap mogul, is denied bail after being acquitted on sex trafficking and racketeering charges, the most serious charges against him that could have landed him life in prison, and found guilty only of transportation to engage in prostitution. Judge Arun Subramanian set a tentative sentencing date of Oct. 3 but is considering the defense’s request for it to be sooner at a virtual hearing scheduled for tomorrow afternoon. Last week after 'Diddy's' verdict, Judge Subramanian ruled from the bench that Combs is a risk to public safety and must remain behind bars until his sentencing. The judge cites substantial evidence presented during the trial alleging Combs' violent history involving former partners and employees. “It is impossible for the defendant to demonstrate by clear and convincing evidence that he poses no danger,” Subramanian said from the bench. Unless the judge rules in favor of the defense, Combs will spend months awaiting sentencing at a notoriously understaffed and violent Brooklyn jail, where the music mogul has called home for nearly ten months. Many of Combs' victims wrote the court pleading for the rap mogul to remain behind bars in fear for their lives and safety. Music Star-Sex-Perv R. Kelly Whines of 'POPULARITY ' in Prison Turn to Fear

Recording artist R. Kelly is serving a 30-year sentence for his racketeering and sex trafficking conviction. In the last days, the Supreme Court has declined to hear an appeal on claims that prosecutors “stretched” the law in the convictions against him. The justices denied an appeal last month. Now, Kelly wants to be released to home detention, claiming that federal authorities are plotting to kill Kelly in prison. A defense motion claims Kelly's former cellmate conspired with prison officials to steal mail between him and his attorneys and turn it over to prosecutors before his trial. Kelly's attorneys also claimed prison officials recruited a fellow prison inmate to kill Kelly to keep him from exposing the plot. CULT MOM LORI VALLOW MURDERS 4, BLAMES “MEDIA, SAYS DEAD CHILDREN “VISIT” HER

In less than seven hours of deliberations, twelve Idaho jurors found Lori Vallow guilty of killing her two children and her current husband’s then-wife. Vallow then faced charges of conspiring to kill Brandon Boudreaux, her niece's ex-husband. It took a jury less then 30 minutes to convict her in that trial.
