"I had nothing. No money. No job. No future. And no hope - all my hope was gone..." I'm speaking with Enton Barefoot who played semi-professional football and was on track to follow his dream of playing as a career when a sliding doors moment changed everything and he fell gradually into a whirlwind life of addiction and homelessness. I share some of my story too, with my own experience in rehab and addiction, and during this episode we discuss: •Using substances to "run away." •The behavioural patterns created to support addiction. •The transition from alcohol to cocaine. •Idolising celebrities and the influence of music and movies. •Identity crisis caused by adopting aspects of other people's lives. •Hitting rock bottom. •Re-channelling the energy of addiction to positive use.
