Episode 39 - Annie Talks with Alissa Hunnicutt | New 'Something' CD Launch
My guest on this episode is a very special person who I met toward the end of 2017. You may recognize her name as she was my guest on Episode 12. At the time when we first talked with her, she was currently working on a very special project. So, in this podcast I've asked her back onto the show to talk about the completion of that project and I cannot wait for you to hear all about it. I'm talking about the beautiful and talented Alissa Hunnicutt who has made a name for herself as a singer/storyteller of alternative folk music. She draws from her acting and musical training to personalize songs with her thoughtful and emotional ukulele arrangements. She especially loves sad songs; so bring a tissue. Alissa holds a Master of Music degree from Manhattan School of Music in vocal performance. She’s also an accomplished puppeteer in all styles of puppetry, having performed at The National Puppetry Conference at the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center, Great Small Works’ International Toy Theater Festival, Sesame Street, and on the CBS series "Life in Pieces.' Most recently, she has combined her puppetry and ukulele performing into a single evening of unique entertainment. I hope you enjoy this episode of Annie Talks and getting to know more about Alissa Hunnicutt. You can find Alissa Hunnicutt's "Something" album on iTunes, CD Baby, or you can stream it on Spotify. But, remember, you get all the extras and bonus items that Alissa talked about during the show directly when you buy the CD itself. So, I encourage to do that! Episode 36 - Annie Talks with Mike Pecci | Critically Acclaimed, Award-winning Film Director | The A
My guest on this episode is Mike Pecci, a critically acclaimed, award-winning film director. With over 18 years of experience, Mike has cemented a name for himself not only as a photographer and music video director but as an abstractly edgy filmmaker who is undeniably devoted to the art of storytelling. His characters are the faces of his work - passionate, emotional, and distorted stories are the basis for some of Mike's most well-received films. His ability to touch audiences through his films is a credit to his commitment to understanding humanity. The work has an emotional quality that can both frighten and pull you in, playing off the darkest chasms of the human condition. Here now is my conversation with Mike Pecci -- the life of a filmmaker, his thought process, and his passion for storytelling through his art. Episode 35 - Annie Talks with Entrepreneur Michelle McNabb | Setting Goals: How I Became an Entrepre
So, if you've been listening to my podcast, you may have heard a few episodes where I talked with women entrepreneurs and learned about the power of being your own #bossbabe and #girlboss. The movement is real. The time is now, and more and more women are quitting their 9-to-5 jobs and going into business for themselves. And if you're one of them, you know the struggles, trials, and tribulations that come with the territory. We often go at it by ourselves or we find out too late what we shoulda, coulda would've done. I know in my own journey toward entrepreneurship, I felt like the lone person on a deserted island without a friend or mentor to call. Well, as luck would have it, I stumbled on a Facebook group called Women Helping Women Entrepreneurs led by Christina Rowe. There I found my guest on this episode, Michelle McNabb. I messaged her and we bounced ideas off of one another, we brainstormed, and one day, I just asked her to come on my show and talk about herself and her business and here she is! Michelle is from the east coast, raised in Pennsylvania, recently moved to Southern Maryland, and is in New York City frequently. She’s a wife, dog-mom, and entrepreneur: wedding planner, bridal mentor & corporate event marketing strategist. She enjoys making Vlogs (which are videos for those not in the know) and meeting new people. Michelle’s expertise is in corporate event marketing. Companies sell business to business or business to consumer however events are people to people connections. Michelle works with sales & marketing teams to build relationships through event strategy to attract, convert, delight and close through organic and event strategies. Later in the episode, Michelle has a special, exciting and an exclusive announcement and all you listeners are hearing it first on this episode of Annie Talks so stick around to hear that great news! The one takeaway from this discussion that I recommend to each of you: set goals for yourself and set them early. As you've heard, Michelle had a vision in mind, she knew where she wanted to be by the age of 30, and having met that goal a few years ahead of that target, she now set a new goal for herself. So the moral of the story is set one goal at a time, once you've achieved it, keep going. I love that! Episode 33 - Annie Talks with Holistic Health Coach Sandy Chasteen
My guest on this episode is Sandy Chasteen, a holistic health coach that focuses on helping people discover the connection between their physical disease and the emotional components underlying the issue. Using essential oils and especially the Aromatouch Technique, the clinical application of 8 key essential oils and blends, Sandy helps people find natural solutions to their issues and create lifestyle plans for optimal healing. She is also an active connector collaborating with other holistic practitioners while helping clients find additional healers to support them on their healing journey. You can find Sandy at sandychasteen.com and catch her on FB Live shows where she chats with a wide variety of holistic healers like herself sharing concepts, tips, and tools to help you live your best life ever! I also wanted to share a very special personal story that happened immediately following my talk with Sandy. We were chit-chatting and one conversation led to another and somehow or another we got onto the subject of my back and muscle ailment that I was experiencing that day. I pointed to my upper back and told Sandy my symptoms, and within minutes, she went to her library on her desk and pulls out this book, a manual of sorts and opens up to this page that basically described me to a tee. It was an emotional breakthrough for me in that it pinpointed some deeper underlying issues -- and Sandy mentions this throughout the interview, and it really wasn't until that very moment that I realize just precisely what she does. She rubbed this amazing oil on my right back shoulder blade -- on the affected area. She told me I would start to feel it "working" in a few minutes, and let me tell you -- within minutes, I was feeling this amazing sensation, a tingling, warm, cool sensation and the thing that got me, was the equally amazing scent -- hence the Aromatouch she spoke very highly about. My drive home was relaxing and the rest of that evening was also relaxing. It was quite therapeutic! I only wished that I had my other side, my other shoulder, done at the same time. The point is, the Aromatouch works, the essential oils work! I highly recommend it.
