It's as bad as experts feared. Hurricane Ian has made landfall in Florida…with experts saying if you had plans to leave and haven’t, stay right where you are. And for many couples planning to be married in Florida this weekend, Hurricane Ian is an uninvited guest upending months of planning. Ann Mercogliano with the story of some brides whose destination weddings have been thrown into chaos. Plus, according to Justice Department figures, crime is up. From 2020 to 2021, there's been a 29% increase in violent attacks…and it would seem that a frightening number of them are random. Les Trent has more in a report that we caution may be intense for younger viewers. And it was an awkward moment today during a conference at the White House. It’s a wait and see game in Florida as Hurricane Ian creeps towards the US coast. It’s expected to be a category 3 storm when it hits land, with Sarasota, about 60 miles south of Tampa apparently in the bullseye. More than 3,000 National Guardsmen have been activated and millions are evacuating as time is running out. But, as Steve Fabian reports, some residents have decided they’re hunkering down. And barely a year after 22-year-old blogger Gabby Petito was found murdered in Wyoming, a TV movie is coming out about the case. We’ve got your first look at the film which recreates the story that captivated the nation. Plus, this guy is dealing with a baffling medical mystery; what’s changing his skin color? It’s been getting darker and darker. We spoke with a dermatologist to find out what’s going on. And he built a massive bunker in his luxurious home, ready to ride out whatever misfortune might come in the future. Prosecutors, however say that bunker made him a target, a magnet for a man terrified over the prospect of nuclear war. Les Trent has the story of the bunker, and the man who says building it cost him the most precious thing in the world. It's a wait and see game as forecasters and residents of Florida brace for Hurricane Ian. Already a category one storm, it's expected to rise to category four by the time it makes landfall. Regardless of where it hits, folks in Tampa are being told to expect the water level there to increase to historic levels. And actor Alec Baldwin is celebrating the birth of his 8th child…number seven with wife Hilaria. However, he may soon have bigger worries than family issues. Prosecutors in New Mexico are said to be close to making a decision about whether to file criminal charges in connection with the fatal onset shooting of cinematographer Halina Hutchins. If charges are warranted, Baldwin is said to be among those who could face charges. He has denied wrongdoing, saying he was told the gun was loaded with blanks and that he did not pull the trigger when Hutchins was accidentally shot. Plus, it's an amusement park danger you may never have thought about…your cell phone. A teenaged girl was rushed to the hospital after she was seriously injured when a cell phone flew off ride and hit her in the head. And the number one show on Netflix this weekend is the miniseries on murderer Jeffrey Dahmer. The film reopens old wounds for some of Dahmer's victims…and as Ann Mercogliano reports...some say the impact of the movie is heightened by the incredible resemblance between the real life killer and the actor who plays him.  To learn more about listener data and our privacy practices visit: https://www.audacyinc.com/privacy-policy Learn more about your ad choices. It's a terrifying ordeal - a woman arrives home to find two thieves inside. They beat and pistol whip her. Here she is today, her face still badly bruised. But what has her most upset is the thieves took her most prized possession. And it’s the interview that didn't happen because a reporter stood her ground. CNN's Christiane Amanpour was set to interview Iran's president in New York. He insisted she wear a headscarf and Amanpour, who was born in Iran, politely refused. As Ann Mercogliano reports, the president then stood her up. Plus, 25 years ago before school shootings became an epidemic, a then 14-year-old opened fire inside his high school killing three classmates. Now he's seeking parole in what's believed to be one of the first known instances of a school shooter possibly leaving prison. And what are the odds that two people working at the same hospital would turn out to be mother and son without either of them having any clue they're related? Well, as Jim Moret explains, it happened.  To learn more about listener data and our privacy practices visit: https://www.audacyinc.com/privacy-policy Learn more about your ad choices. "The Art of the Steal" that’s how the attorney general of New York described Donald Trump's business dealings as she announced today she is suing the former president and his three oldest children accusing them of engaging in numerous acts of fraud. This comes as political observers say Trump is now publicly embracing the conspiracy group QAnon. And it’s not the announcement you want to hear on a plane “a baby has stopped breathing.” But thankfully a nurse was on board and she saved the baby…much to the cheers of her fellow passengers. Les Trent spoke with the nurse and the baby's very relieved mom about that lifesaving flight. Plus, it was a big night as Yankee’s slugger Aaron Judge hit number 60 for the season…tying Babe Ruth's record and putting him one away tying the record books. Meantime, the guy who caught it has put himself in the "class" hall of fame...for giving the ball back! And as Russia's invasion of Ukraine now enters its seventh month. Who killed Allie Rice? She was in the wrong place at the wrong time. That’s what the grieving father of LSU student Allie Rice is saying today after she was shot to death in her car. He says his daughter didn't have enemies so he doesn't believe she knew her killer. He spoke with Ann Mercogliano. And she was called a real-life Gone Girl - the California mom who staged her own disappearance and falsely claimed she was tortured for 22 days. Plus, while in London for three weeks, Prince Harry and Meghan obviously missed their children, but also one of the newest members of their family, a pooch named Mamma Mia. It's a beagle that was rescued from a group of 4,000 puppies found in Virginia, and you won't believe what happened to some of the other pups. And singer Adam Levine is speaking out after a model came forward claiming she had an affair with the married father of two. She even released flirty texts she says proves it. However, while Levine says he didn't cheat, he admits he did send those messages in a moment of poor judgement.  To learn more about listener data and our privacy practices visit: https://www.audacyinc.com/privacy-policy Learn more about your ad choices. Today we broadcast from London, just outside Westminster Abby where just a few hours ago funeral services were held for Queen Elizabeth II, Britain’s longest living and longest reigning monarch. Today marks the end of ten days of mourning…the final farewell to the only monarch most people have ever known. And the first state funeral in Britain since Winston Churchill’s in 1965 was a security challenge…the biggest in London's history. There was a massive police presence as well as military personnel involved in keeping the crowd safe. As Les Trent reports they weren't taking any chances. Plus, before her death, the queen had a chat with an archbishop who had been planning today's funeral with her for 17 years. He says the queen had one request – “don't make my service long and boring”…mission accomplished.  And it wasn't made official until last night that Prince William and Kate's two oldest children Prince George and Princess Charlotte would be attending. This was their first big outing on the world stage…and they were the picture of poise.
