At the moment the late pontiff's body remains in a chapel inside his private residence, but tomorrow he will be moved to St. Peter's basilica, where the Pope will lie in repose in an open casket so the faithful here in Rome may pay their last respects. And back home in the states, opening statements began today in the retrial of Karen Read - the woman accused of murdering her Boston cop boyfriend by mowing him down with her SUV. As Read entered the court for her second trial, she said she was feeling anxious, but ready. Plus, every minute, an estimated 500 purses are stolen in the United States. And over the weekend, the purse belonging to homeland security secretary Kristi Noem was one of them. As you may have heard, her bag was snatched while she was dining at a DC restaurant with her family on Easter Sunday. The thief got away with 3 thousand dollars cash and Noem's government access badge - which raises security concerns. And eleven years ago, an adorable little girl named Grace was dying of stage four cancer. Around the world, 1.4 billion Catholics, along with people of all faiths, are mourning the death of Pope Francis. There had been worries over the Pope's health in recent months after his five-week hospital stay for pneumonia... and when he appeared at the Vatican yesterday for Easter, there were hopes he was doing better... but that comeback is now being seen as a goodbye. And Pope Francis is known as one of the most humble papal figures in the catholic church's history. And as we saw during his trip to the states, he didn't want to be seen as just an untouchable icon, waving from the Vatican balcony. He was dubbed the people's Pope because he liked to get up close and personal. Plus, in public, Pope Francis usually took a serious tone - talking about the world's problems. But behind the scenes those close to him say he liked a good joke like the rest of us. That's why he was all smiles last year when he hosted 100 famous comedians at the Vatican. And a retiree working as an Uber driver to help pay the bills, ended up stuck in her vehicle on train tracks, and started panicking. Police bodycam video is answering some of the mysteries surrounding the death of Oscar-winning actor Gene Hackman and his wife. And there's one very poignant moment -- as cops discover the bodies, they see one of the couple's beloved dogs keeping watch - loyal to the very end. And she's the teacher who cops say attended a party at the principal's house involving alcohol and drugs and 200 students, many of them underage. Now just-released bodycam video from the moment police arrive at the party shows the teacher telling them she's not drunk, but based on how she was acting, they don't believe her. Cops arrested her for disorderly conduct and intoxication.
