President Joe Biden is isolating at his home in Delaware after being diagnosed with Covid. It's just the latest blow to a campaign that has been floundering since that devastating debate just three weeks ago. And doing yard work is a typical summer job for a teenager. Only this job nearly cost this 17-year-old his life. Plus, one in eight women in this country will be diagnosed with breast cancer during their lifetime, and this meteorologist is one of them. After losing her hair from chemo she wore a wig on the air leading to a nasty email from a viewer...and boy is she setting him straight! And when the convention ends, former President Trump and his running mate will be hitting the campaign trail trying to rally voters to their cause. Up until now, most of the Trump rallies have been in outdoor venues. However, after Saturday's shooting, might that change?   To learn more about listener data and our privacy practices visit: https://www.audacyinc.com/privacy-policy Learn more about your ad choices. As Donald Trump gets another rousing reception at the RNC, we're learning more about the assassination attempt. When the former president arrived at the local emergency room just minutes after the shooting, other patients in the ER were stunned to see the hospital's high-profile patient come through the doors. And the secret service has been under attack for its failures in the wake of Saturday’s assassination attempt, and coming under special fire have been female members of the former president's security team. That’s sparked an uproar of its own. Plus, it was a race against time to save a girl who was buried when sand around her collapsed. The sand keeps falling and the tide is rising. As Jim Moret reports, it was all hands on to try to save her before it was too late. And she was enjoying the great outdoors at a national park...then a grizzly showed up!              To learn more about listener data and our privacy practices visit: https://www.audacyinc.com/privacy-policy Learn more about your ad choices. Donald Trump took the stage for his first public appearance since the assassination attempt, and seemed genuinely moved by the rousing reception. Steven Fabian begins our coverage. And the former president hasn't spoken specifically about the extent of his injury although reports indicate a part of his ear was removed. So what's next for his recovery? Inside Edition’s Alison Hall has some answers. Plus, the secret service and local law enforcement each say the other was responsible for securing the building from which the shooter fired. So far, no one can explain why thirty minutes elapsed from when the shooter was first spotted, and those fatal shots were fired. And it’s a tragic story you've heard before and it's happened again. A child was left alone in a hot car, and by the time she was discovered, she was dead. Now, her father is charged with murder and her mother is facing the potential loss of two members of her family.     To learn more about listener data and our privacy practices visit: https://www.audacyinc.com/privacy-policy Learn more about your ad choices. The Republican National Convention is underway and the assassination attempt over the weekend on former President Trump has dramatically changed the tone of the convention. With speeches being re-written to focus on a message of unity. It's been more than 40 years since an attempt has been made on a sitting or former president's life - not since Ronald Reagan was shot in 1981. And Trump is praising the secret service agents for their heroic actions, taking down the gunman with quote "one shot between the eyes." The counter sniper made the shot from 140 yards away, saving not only the former president but many others in the crowd. Plus, we're learning more about the 20-year-old shooter, Thomas Matthew Crooks, who graduated high school two years ago. He didn't have much of a social media presence and fellow classmates say he was a loner who kept to himself. He can however be seen in the background of a TV commercial that just happened to be shot at his school. And the assassination attempt came just two days before the start of the convention in Milwaukee. 50,000 people are in Milwaukee for the event, and security officials say they are ready to go.    To learn more about listener data and our privacy practices visit: https://www.audacyinc.com/privacy-policy Learn more about your ad choices. It was must see TV as President Biden held a wide open press conference that was broadcast live around the country. The aim? To allay concerns about his fitness to continue another four years in the White House. What was it like there? Steven Fabian spoke with one of the reporters called upon by the president. And the latest from the Alec Baldwin trial where the question is being asked - are witnesses being given secret signals while on the stand? That's the allegation from the actor's attorney, as the trial takes a break to give the judge a chance to rule on that as well as a defense allegation that critical evidence about ammunition on the set was withheld by prosecutors. Plus, last night, ESPN presented the ESPY Awards with Serena Williams as host. She delivered plenty of zingers and even took a shot at one of the high profile athletes in the audience. And chances are someone you know has gotten Covid lately. The CDC reports there's an increase in covid cases in 39 states, with a new variant nicknamed “Flirt” responsible for 2/3 of the cases. For some people it's not their first time. Ann Mercogliano spoke with one woman who has gotten Covid eight times.   To learn more about listener data and our privacy practices visit: https://www.audacyinc.com/privacy-policy Learn more about your ad choices. Less than 24 hours after George Clooney called for President Joe Biden to withdraw from the presidential race, the actor finds himself under attack - both from supporters of Biden and his November opponent, former President Donald Trump. And she left an indelible mark in The Shining, and starred as Olive Oil alongside Robin Williams in Popeye. However, in her later years, Shelley Duvall seemed to have spiraled into mental illness. Today we learned Shelley Duvall is dead at age 75. Plus, testimony continues in the involuntary manslaughter trial of Alec Baldwin, with his attorneys saying all blame should fall on the professionals in charge of weapons on set. Baldwin has a number of family members on hand for support, and as Jim Moret reports, they found time to do a little shopping. And the heat is being blamed for the death of another Hollywood figure, the former child star who appeared on the hit tv show ALF. As Ann Mercogliano reports, it was 109 degrees the day his body was found in his car in a bank parking lot in Arizona. Can President Biden remain his party's nominee? Just three weeks ago, George Clooney was beside President Biden at a star-studded fundraiser. Now, the Oscar winner is calling for a new nominee. As Steven Fabian reports, it is a stunning about face for the lifelong Democrat who says Joe Biden is not the same man he was just a few years ago. And the involuntary manslaughter trial of Alec Baldwin is on. Opening arguments were delivered this morning with the actor's attorney saying what happened on the set of that movie was a tragedy - but it was not a crime. During a break in the trial, Baldwin was seen outside the court taking a walk with his wife and youngest child. Jim Moret is at the courthouse in Santa Fe with the latest. Plus, could it be that there's a scandal in the world of major league eating? Questions are being asked about just how many hot dogs one contestant really ate during the annual contest at Coney Island. Ann Mercogliano reports some say there's a weasel in the world of wieners. And a man broke into a pet store and started releasing the animals from their enclosures. A short distance away, police made an arrest and they're pretty sure they nabbed the right guy. The man was wearing a onesie stuffed with gerbils!    To learn more about listener data and our privacy practices visit: https://www.audacyinc.com/privacy-policy Learn more about your ad choices. A heart attack happens every 40 seconds in this country, and this alert nurse spotted one. She was about to board a flight when she noticed another passenger in the gate area who was sleeping and snoring in such a way that she knew he was having a heart attack. If it weren’t for her stepping in, the man probably would have died. And Questions about President Biden's mental acuity continue to be asked on both sides of the political aisle. Now, even the usually Biden-friendly late night comics are beginning to wonder what's going on. Plus, more than 142 million Americans were confronted by record heat on Monday, which has created a danger you may not be aware of. When temperatures are soaring, sidewalks are sizzling and that's sending people to the ER with serious burns. And today was jury selection in the involuntary manslaughter trial of actor Alec Baldwin. Baldwin was holding the gun that fired a fatal bullet that killed the cinematographer of his movie Rust. Will Baldwin's history of speaking out against former President Trump, and of course playing him on Saturday Night Live, be a factor in picking a jury? Jim Moret is at the courthouse in New Mexico with the latest.
