They discuss the latest headlines, including the an always popular subject of salaries, as the average dealer principal saw annual salary in 2016, including commission, rise 23.4% to £116,000 compared to the previous year. Inchcape rated 5 in the Motor Trader Top 200 with annual turnover of £2.7bn, has introduced the package to retain its current 950 technicians while also attracting 350 new technicians to its business. In other news, Rybrook Holdings has bought Paymill Motor Holdings, which operates a BMW and Mini and Motorrad motorcycle dealership in Wolverhampton. While, Holdcroft Motor Group has bought ALM Garages’ Hyundai business in Macclesfield for an undisclosed sum. Auto Trader has rolled out its Price Indicators service across its website in a move it said would provide used car buyers with greater transparency. And, NFDA chairman Mark Squires, Eden Motors CEO Graeme Potts and Swansway Group director Peter Smyth are among the top car retailing speakers confirmed for the Motor Trader Summit on 12 July.

In other news, according to Jato Dynamics, April new car registrations dip 7% in Europe and JCT600 has recorded record turnover but a fall in profits for the year-ended 31 December 2016 citing the impact of pre-registered cars on new and used prices in the wider market. Cap hpi revealed a year on year 5% increase in pre-registered cars in May. The automotive data experts studied 17 plate and 16 plate used vehicles advertised on digital platforms.
