This week again the pod starts with a discussion about slow play, following the legendary Dottie Peppers comments at the weekend - more on Dottie later in the pod. Nick and Mark discuss slow play and how it is endemic in the game at the moment. Nick describes it as a 'joke' at the moment.Nick watched Jak Carter play at the weekend and he and Mark chat about his performance - Mark wants to know if Jak is still an exceptional iron player.Torrey Pines at the weekend copped some weather, but worse a number of withdrawals with illness - including Marks fave Ludvig Åberg. We discuss Torrey Pines, and Nick gives his somewhat unflattering view of the course. He loves the location, but feels the course is not up to scratch. Mark wants to know could a redo be done? Nick would like to see the rough shaved down a bit around the greens, it wouldn't salvage the course but it would make it interesting.Nick raises the movie Invincible and recommends it a watch for the Talk Birdie 'family'....more on the name shortly.Hotline rings, and it's Anthony from Melbourne who stopped playing golf for a numbers of years, but is back playing with his son and tells us how he's going.Mark was reading a Top 100 list this week, the Top 100 Links courses - voted by course architects. Regular listeners will know that there has been trouble in paradise. Following a dinner party at Nick O'Hern's where some of his friends felt the name 'wolfpack' to describe Talk Birdie listeners was exclusionary to women - ironic considering there are females wolves. At this link is a one hour video on wolves which apparently explains that 'wolf' is multi gender. We say apparently because we got bored about 20-seconds into it, but you may like to watch it.Anyway, long story short, we asked for your suggestions on alternative names, and today we run through what you've said and narrow it down to four options, which we will put a poll up on Twitter to vote on. Massive episode of Talk Birdie To Me today, in fact our longest episode so far. Could be because Mark consistently derailed the pod, but it could be that there was lots of stuff to talk about. Truth is probably somewhere in the middle.Nick has come in worked up over slow play after watching the Desert Classic in California and the Dubai Desert Classic at the weekend. Mark agrees and is amazed when Nick tells him the durations of some of the rounds. Nick gives his view again that stroke penalties should be introduced. Mark has three things he'd like to see happen that he feels will address slow play instantly. Nick's big beef is that the players are allowed to get away with it and the time limits are not being policed.In the Desert Classic, William Mouw shot 13 on a par 5, Nick saw it, Mark didn't - but it was what happened on the next hole that Nick found even more amusing.Mark mentions a major award Australia's OCM have won in the US for their work on the Medinah course near Chicago. Mark tells a story about him and Mike Clayton playing with a young kid from Queensland called Adam Scott at Cranbourne, and after seeing his first hole thinking he was rubbish.....but Adam then went on to blow them both away. Mark talks about how Adam was 'using the force' with his putting.We discuss Brandel Chamblee's tweet this week criticising LIV. Nick raises Rory McIlroy's chat with young Tom McKibbin about going to LIV or not.Top 5 from Mark is on the most disastrous holes ever.
