The Case of Sarah Cherry
This week, Drewby drive a couple miles to Bowdoin, Maine, to discuss the case of Sarah Cherry. Normally, we'd give you a case preview, but not this time. We've been working on this case for the better part of two years, and it's one that's extremely close to our hearts due to it's proximity to us. As I'm sure you know by now, we try our very best to present our cases as neutrally as possible - or at the very least, as neutrally as the readily available information will allow. This case is very difficult for us due to the fact that the police in charge of case botched it all ways possible. This included destroying DNA evidence, lying in court, altering documents, ignoring two very likely suspects, and railroading a local farmer on circumstantial evidence alone. Please listen to all of the evidence carefully and let us know your thoughts. Did the police get their guy? Or has an innocent man been locked up in our supermax for decades? This wouldn't be the first time... We want the right person behind bars. If that's Dennis, then I'm happy they caught him quickly. The Case of Scotty McMillan
This week, Drewby and Yergy head to Pennsylvania to discuss the case of Scotty McMillan, an adorable little red haired boy who lost his life at the hands of his mother, Jillian Tait, and her "sugar daddy," Gary Lee Fellenbaum III, whom she had met at Walmart. Soon Gary, who was a father and already married to a woman named Amber, began abusing Scotty and his brother "R." He beat them with metal rods and a homemade cat-o-nine-tails, among other things, while they were hung upside down by their feet. On November 3rd, 2014, Scotty was beaten to death for not eating his breakfast. He was pronounced dead the following day. The Case of Macy Grace Ditty
This week, Drewby and Yergy travel to Fayetteville, NC, to discuss the case of Macy Grace Ditty, an adorable little girl born to a narcissistic mother and a father who was away on deployment. When her mother, Jeanie, wasn't busy working out at the gym and cheating on her husband, she was allegedly beating Macy. When Macy ultimately succumbed to her injuries, Jeanie tried to pin the crime on her lover, Zachary Keefer. Zachary was cleared of all charges, including that of domestic violence against his ex-wife, Lisa. In all, Zachary served 44 months in jail for these crimes. And Jeanie? She is still free as of the time we recorded this episode, has a new baby, and is active on the dating apps. Jeanie is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. The Case of Erica Green
This week, Drewby and Yergy discuss the tragic case of Erica Green, or as she was more famously known, Precious Doe. Erica's mother, Michelle Johnson, and her new man, Harrell, murdered the little girl, decapitated her, and then disposed of her body in the woods. The Case of Channon Christian and Chris Newsom
This week, Drewby and Yergy head to Tennessee to discuss the tragic case of Channon Christian and Chris Newsom, a lovely young couple from Knoxville that were kidnapped, tortured, sexually assaulted, and murdered. Four males and one female were arrested, charged, and convicted in the case. According to the Associated Press, some bloggers and media critics claimed that the national media ignored the murders because the victims were white while all five suspects were black. Most news reports came from local media and online news sites. Police Chief Sterling Owen IV said that there was no indication that the crimes were racially motivated. He said, "We have no evidence to support the notion that this was a race-based crime. We see this as a cold-blooded murder." However, some commentators disagreed, claiming that such a crime represented motives of racial hatred. The media circus that ensued overshadowed the senseless deaths of the two victims involved, Channon and Chris. The Case of Marion Jester Montoya
This week, Drewby and Yergy head to Lubbock, Texas, to discuss the case of Marion Jester Montoya, a sweet little girl who had the misfortune of being born to a mother, Veronica Weems, who didn't have her best interests at heart. After cheating on Marion's father, Emilio, with his friend, Trevor Rowe, the new "couple" move in together. Although Emilio made several reports to CPS about his daughter's welfare, they simply didn't listen - much like in many of the cases we cover. Things came to a head on January 7th, 2020, when Marion's mother didn't want the burden of watching her daughter. Instead, Trevor stuffed Marion into a backpack and brought her with him to his roofing job. She was later stuffed into the trunk of his car, where she later died. The Case of Devon and Damon Routier
This week, Drewby and Yergy head back down to Texas to discuss the Lonestar State's more notorious whodunnit, and that's the murder of Devon and Damon Routier. The boys lived in Rowlett, and affluent suburb of Dallas, with their parents, Darin and Darlie, and their younger brother, Drake. The family seemed to have everything, but underneath the façade, things had started to crumble financially, leading to tension in the home.
