Om episode

Lord, Call Me To Come To You The Lord’s walking on water is a different experience for His disciples. As great as it is to see the Lord restore someone’s sight, this experience is indeed different. The Lord’s walking on the top of the water is very different. Jesus chooses this time to walk on the water. Note how the Gospel begins! Jesus sends the disciples away, so he could pray alone. He sent them away in the boat. The Lord knows what He is going to do. His disciples do not. The Apostles have seen much, and have been with Jesus about two years. It is very similar in our Spiritual Life. The Lord sends us away. He sends us away from the familiar. We may not know exactly where Jesus is, but we know He sent us in a specific direction. While the wind slows the Apostles in the boat, it does not impact Jesus. Jesus is walking on the water. Water holds no shape. Jesus rules the water, and can walk upon it. He can command the waters. It is not a threat to the Lord. What a different experience for the disciples. The disciples first think He is a ghost. Its not natural for anyone to walk on water. They do not recognize Him, until He speaks. This happens in our own Spiritual Life. Often we do not recognize the Lord, until we hear His voice. Hear more on the parallelism of this Gospel reading. Hear how the Gospel reading of the disciples witnessing the Lord walk on water connects to our own Spiritual Life.
