I Will Not Turn My Back On You Says The Lord! Love by its essence, longs to be received. In both the first reading (not included within the audio) and the Gospel are messages of love. What parent hasn’t longed to have their love received by someone? Often, we are hurt by someone who we love. We are hurt not because love is extended . . . but because the love extended was not received. Often, we see the very people we love turn their back on us . . . and our love. At times, this might result in anger. This is what has happened in the first reading.
