Om episode

What Does Value in Suffering Mean for Our Spiritual Life? The readings today focus on contrasts between light and darkness, night and day, blindness and sight. In the first reading (not included within this audio) is the anointing of David, the future king of Israel. Jesse and his sons are invited to a feast and among his sons, a king will be chosen. As the prophet arrives, he sees the sons and says the eldest son must be the anointed one. God says no. None of the sons will do. They send for David, and he is anointed. The prophet sees one thing. Jesse sees one thing. God sees the heart of man. Listen more to the Homily. In the Gospel, Peter asks the Lord about a blind man since birth. Did the man sin or was it his parents? Jesus says neither. The man was blind since birth in order for the glory of God to be revealed to the world at the right time. Hear more about God’s Glory Revealed To Man By Curing the Blind Man. There is value in suffering. Most humans avoid the idea of suffering. What does value in suffering mean for our spiritual life? Listen more to this Meditation Media. Note: Hear more about Mission Week at the Shrine.
