13-year-old Kristopher Lewis got off the bus with a friend on February 4, 2014. He was only a block away from his house, in Boston’s Dorchester neighborhood, when his friend last saw him. But Kris never made it home. Kristopher’s mother, Nina Cancel, was thrust into every parent’s worst nightmare, which was compounded by the utter disinterest that the Boston Police and the local media showed toward her and her missing son.
