EP 24: Anthony Cullins and Alex Sorgente

Oct. 20 ‘22 (the day after Kyre’s 30th b day) marked the return of the great Anthony Cullins. This time with a much bigger band and pro skater Alex Sorgente hanging out with the crew. Joining Anthony’s circus was Phunky Phil Pardel on drum kit, Malachi Johnson on drum kit, Ty Kiernan on Percussion, and Kyre Wilcox playing bass and co-hosting. Ace horn section included Gabe Carson on sax, Cade Gotthardt on trumpet, and Wesley Etienne on trombone. Big thanks to Mel for stepping in and co-hosting the show for Zach. The energy was huge in the room and the band wasn’t afraid to let loose. Anthony Cullins’ tunes are hard to describe. Many genres blend to make a beautiful vortex of creative sonic space. The members feed off each other and the audience can tell the limits are being pushed when solo sections arrive. This was Alex’s first time seeing the group and he was blown away so much that he arranged for them to play the premiere of his new Red Bull Skate part “Vero Amore” the following night.
