Climate change : Our country Philippines is a highly vulnerable to the impacts of Climate change including sea level rise, increased frequency of weather events, rising temperature & heavy rainfall. We are one of the world's most cyclone prone region which has an average of 19 to 20 per year of which is 7 to 9 landfall. According to PAG-ASA since the mid 20th century is due to human activities. Dave Albao ( @dave.albao , @danjuganisland ) is the Executive Director of the Philippine Reef and Rainforest Conservation Foundation Inc. (PRRCFI), the nonprofit behind Danjugan Island, a wildlife sanctuary with environmental education and sustainable tourism programs. He was once its island manager, as a 'Keeper of the Wild' funded by the World Land Trust; finding himself at home with “rewilding”, passionate about freediving, indigenous spirituality, and our interconnectedness with nature. In the last four years, Dave and his team has expanded the Foundation’s portfolio in supporting a network of marine protected areas, as well as implementing USAID-funded projects reducing ocean plastic, such as the "Wala Usik" campaign towards local circular economy with social enterprises (by redesigning sari-sari stores). He was a 2016 Professional Fellow on Environmental Sustainability in Oregon, USA, and is currently in the 2020 cohort of Swedish Institute Management Programme on Sustainable Business. Tune in! A good way to start discussion on Climate change advocacy.
