Thank you for 20,000 subs and over 1 Million views on YouTube!! ➖➖➖ Our guest today is Leslie, an incredibly brave survivor who joined a deeply patriarchal cult when she was just a teenager. This cult is known as “The Message”, and was founded by Christian minister and faith healer, William Branham. Branham greatly influenced notorious cult leaders like Jim Jones and Paul Schäfer and inspired other fanatical groups like the deadly Malindi cult ,which I covered in another episode. Out of all of the harmful practices Branham taught, he reserved his most vile thoughts and teachings, for women.  Leslie discusses the profound physical and emotional toll she suffered for years and how she was repeatedly forced into sexual activities despite having serious medical conditions that made intimacy extremely hazardous to her health. She also reveals tragic details of how her abuser deliberately disregarded these medical risks, prioritizing his own desires over her well-being and safety. This conversation contains mature themes and may be difficult for some listeners. However, it sheds light on the often-hidden world of religious cults, purity culture, and the lasting impact they have on people, especially women. ➖➖➖ Thanks for listening and be sure to follow us here and on YouTube for more culty content: https://www.youtube.com/@KendraLeeBryan Join our Patreon for exclusive content, community chats and early release episodes: patreon.com/TheAntiCultClub Browse our website for merch! https://kendraleebryan.com/ #cult #jimjones #williambranham #faithhealer # --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/kendra-bryan/support
