GoFundMe Suspends Candace Owens’ Fundraiser After Controversial George Floyd Comments. GoFundMe has suspended conservative political commentator Candace Owens’s fundraiser for an Alabama cafe whose co-owner criticized the George Floyd protests. Owens also came under fire for controversial comments about Floyd while speaking with Glenn Beck. Owens raised more than $200,000 for Birmingham’s Parkside Cafe, whose co-owner Michael Dykes said Floyd was a “thug” and protesters were “idiots” in a text message to a co-worker that was posted online. Three employees quit working and people online began boycotting the cafe after Dykes’ comments came out. Owens also came under fire for controversial comments about Floyd, who died after a police officer kneeled on his neck for more than eight minutes. The fact that he has been held up as a martyr sickens me. George Floyd was not a good person, I don’t care who wants to spin that. I don’t care how CNN wants to make you think he changed his life around,” she said in an interview with Beck. “He was just after his sixth or fifth stint in prison.” Candace Owens was not included on the list of people speaking at the Republican National Convention, and some people are quite happy about it. Owens, a Black conservative, isn't a favorite in many circles, one of them being the Black community. Her social and political commentary has come under fire multiple times, with Heavy reporting that Owens "has been an open supporter of President Donald Trump and created #Blexit, a movement to discourage Black Americans from voting with the Democratic party." She was more recently slammed for bringing up George Floyd's record after his death, and she's also made claims that the National Rifle Association started as a civil rights organization to protect African Americans from the Ku Klux Klan. HURRICANE LAURA: Prepare for high winds in Houston Despite all of her past and present antics, she remains one of the most controversial voices in the Republican party, especially as a Black woman— but that still didn't land Owens a speaking position at the Republican National Convention. When the list of speakers was announced, her name was nowhere to be found... Every Receipt Proving Candace Owens Is A Con Artist Who Is Following The Money. Without her crutch of having Donald Trump as president, Candace Owens is increasingly making desperate attempts to capitalize on her dwindling 15 minutes of hateful infamy. Case and point: The conservative Black white supremacist went and reignited her running feud with rapper Cardi B in a disingenuous attempt at championing women’s rights — along racial lines, of course. After Owens — who, notably, has sympathized with Nazi leader Adolf Hitler and repeatedly blamed Black men for being killed by the police — went on Fox News to express her outrage at Cardi B’s performance at the Grammy Awards Sunday night, the rapper fired back in a series of tweets Tuesday afternoon, prompting a lively back and forth between the two. But — as usual — Owens’ attempt to come across as holier than thou backfired, shining a light on her latest effort at her signature con artistry to convince people she’s a better person than Cardi B, who expertly exposed that flawed line of reasoning. Owens was angry that Cardi B was getting attention for her hit song “WAP” with Megan Thee Stallion and suggested the rapper had no other recourse than to sell sex. That’s when Cardi clapped back on Twitter and pointed out that Owens was a major defender of former first lady Melania Trump, who at one point earned at least part of her living by posing nude — also know as selling sex, making her guilty of what Owens tried to shame Cardi for.
