A maternity ward and children’s ward at a hospital in Mariupol have been destroyed in a Russian air strike, according to officials there. At the moment we don’t know how many people have died. More than two million have now left the country, and Prof Peter Gatrell from the University of Manchester explains how this compares to other conflicts.
