Sinn Fein, which believes in the reunification of Ireland, has become the largest party in the devolved Northern Ireland government for the first time. Northern Ireland's delicate political situation has meant years of two parties sharing power – nationalist Sinn Fein and unionist DUP. But with the DUP no longer the largest of those parties, some are wondering how Northern Ireland will be governed in the future – particularly after Brexit. A protocol had been agreed following the UK's departure from the European Union to avoid a hard border between Ireland and Northern Ireland, but it has created problems.
