Overcoming Anxiety After a Toxic Job (Cait Frandsen’s Recovery Story)

Cait Frandsen started feeling anxiety symptoms in her toxic work environment, where she was bullied and constantly stressed. She thought leaving her job would solve everything, but even after moving to a better, healthier work environment, the anxiety continued to follow her into every part of her life.

Cait felt that everyone hated her, and her panic attacks became a daily reality. Even minor things – like grocery shopping or the sound of her phone ringing – would send her into panic mode.

After catching COVID-19 and nearly losing her mother to a medical emergency, Cait’s anxiety skyrocketed. Intrusive thoughts consumed her – she feared she had failed as a daughter and began to catastrophize everything. She stopped going out, isolated herself from friends, and constantly worried she was going to be fired from her job for having panic attacks.
