The Prison Confessions of Gypsy Rose Blanchard Pt. 3

The Prison Confessions of Gypsy Rose Blanchard Pt. 3

Gypsy-Rose Blanchard, having been released from a Missouri prison, is now actively engaging with a growing audience on social media. Beginning this Friday, she will open up about her past in a more personal manner. She plans to share detailed accounts of the medical, emotional, and physical abuse she endured from her mother, Clauddine "Dee Dee" Blanchard. Additionally, she will explain her perspective on why she believed that committing a crime was her sole option for escape.

“The best memory that I have in my entire life is the day that I got to prison, and I got to go out to the picnic tables, and I’m like, ‘I’m free. I’m free to have friends. I’m free to do what I want,’“ she says in Lifetime’s new six-episode docuseries, “The Prison Confessions of Gypsy Rose Blanchard” (Friday through Sunday, 8 pm. “It might be in a controlled environment, but this is nice.”

The harrowing story involves Dee Dee persistently shaving Gypsy-Rose's head to support a false leukemia diagnosis, compelling her to use a wheelchair, and subjecting her to unwarranted medical treatments. This narrative, along with Dee Dee's subsequent murder, was depicted in HBO's 2017 documentary "Mommy Dead and Dearest" and the 2019 Hulu limited drama series "The Act," featuring Joey King and Patricia Arquette.
