IN CONVERSATION: Julia Gillard

IN CONVERSATION: Julia Gillard

HI HOW ARE YOU OK ENOUGH CHIT CHAT BECAUSE... Today on the show, we bring you the woman who needs no introduction - but we will attempt to give her one that does her justice - Julia Gillard. Julia was, of course, the first female Prime Minister of Australia, who is now the Chair of Beyond Blue, one of Australia’s leading mental health awareness bodies. Julia is also an avid advocate for addressing women’s under-representation in leadership, which was the motivation behind the book she just co-authored with Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, ‘Women and Leadership’. In this chat, Julia touches on the frustration that accompanies being a woman in politics, the moment she found out Hillary Clinton lost to Donald Trump, as well as her absolutely iconic misogyny speech. If you’d like to hear more from Julia, please do check out her newest book that she co-wrote with Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, ‘Women and Leadership’. Order it here! You can also order Julia’s memoir, ‘My Story’, here. For those In Conversation episodes we mentioned at the end of today’s episode, click here for Dylan Alcott and here for Marlee Silva.
