IN CONVERSATION: Bel Sloane

Hello lovely listeners! Today we have a powerful interview with Bel Sloane. In case you’re not familiar with her name, Bel is a television presenter for Channel 7. She’s also the wife of AFL star and captain of the Adelaide Crows, Rory Sloane. In 2018, Bel and Rory lost their first child Leo, who was born sleeping. In this interview, we talk about that grief, but also the love that Leo brought to both of their lives. We also talk about what it was like to fall pregnant again with their little boy, Sonny, and the mechanics of keeping that entire pregnancy secret from the outside world. While we sat with Bel in her Adelaide home, there was a great, big Christmas tree right beside us. On the Christmas tree were a collection of baubles that read the names of their little family - Mum, Dad, Sonny and Leo - the little warrior who will never be forgotten, and whose passing ignited a legacy that will help Australian parents for years to come. Addressing the Big Booner in the room

Hiya! On today’s show: Hailey Bieber visibly steps out in NYC without her wedding ring, so how much are we meant to read into it? Jameela Jamil is done being interviewed by women in print, Benson Boone is finally able to get in on the joke, and a newly single Orlando is psyched for Bezos’s Venice wedding, according to TMZ. And then, Zara welcomes us to her algorithm - it’s Dua Lipa at Wembley, of course. This week, Zara recommended ‘How the RealReal’s founder Julie Wainright built a billion-dollar business’ on Let’s Get Dressed. Mich recommended ‘How I became a brainwashed cult bride’ from ABC Conversations. Big thanks to Air New Zealand for making this episode possible. “We’d have hundreds and hundreds of nickels”

Hiii! On today’s show: We obviously need to talk about Sabrina Carpenter’s album cover, Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom’s relationship is in question… again, the fascinating fallout from a Doja Cat fan interaction, Sofie Richie Grainge addresses cheating blind items head on and then… our Gossip Girl has resurfaced once again. Of course, it’s Jason Isaacs.  This week, Mich recommended watching Stick on Apple TV. Zara recommended One Golden Summer by Carly Fortune. The story of Scooter

The story of Scooter

Hello!  On today’s show, one of the biggest news stories of the year happened last week when Taylor Swift purchased her master recordings. This story drowned out almost everything in its wake, so you might’ve missed Scooter Braun’s two-hour interview with Diary of a CEO which also dropped last week. The timing of it all got us thinking: who *is* Scooter Braun? Like, is he really *that* bad? We’re going to look at his relationship to Taylor, Justin Bieber, and his other A-list clients to see if we can figure this guy out…  On today’s episode, Eilish recommended ‘Did She or Didn’t She? She Did, and She’ll Tell You Exactly How’ in the New York Times.  Big thanks to Daily Blooms for making today’s episode of Shameless possible – gorgeous, locally made flowers delivered to your door, same day.  You can listen to Zara’s Life Lessons here on Spotify, and here on Apple.  This episode was produced by Eilish Gilligan.  Want to support our show? They undid the bow!

They undid the bow!

Hello! On today’s show: After weeks of internet murmurs, Kobe Bryant’s widow Vanessa Bryant has clarified that she is, in fact, not pregnant. The vitriol thrown her way over this rumour got us thinking about what it’s like for women to grieve in public. It feels like loss doesn’t even protect you from the wrath of the internet in 2025 – so does it mean we’ve lost our last shred of decorum? This week, Zara recommended Role Model on Zane Lowe’s show, as well as the book The Wedding People. Mich recommended Your Friends and Neighbours on Apple TV+. To follow the beautiful Kelsey Mulcahy on TikTok, head here. Thanks so much to Air New Zealand for making this episode possible. If you’re heading to New Zealand, this is the ultimate way to start your trip. Book your flight to NZ at airnewzealand.com.au or contact your preferred travel agent.
