While sitting in jail awaiting his case, John continued fighting and causing problems until he made a desperate move, he escaped jail and fled to New York. While on the run he committed another robbery before eventually being caught, a decision that would change his life forever. Between charges in Connecticut and New York, John was ultimately sentenced to nearly 50 years in prison.
